Volunteers - Helping in school

All staff members appreciate that support and help from parents is vital in a child’s learning, with parents helping and encouraging children at home, with such things as talking, reading and number work. Members of staff welcome parents coming in to help in classrooms. If you are able to spare a few hours to help in school please talk to your child’s teacher.

All volunteers require a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate to allow them to work with children. This is a check that a person is not disqualified from working with vulnerable groups, such as children. If you wish to volunteer at Ladybridge, we will arrange this for you.

A range of courses or workshops are provided through the year to give parents opportunities to work together to support their children’s learning and to further develop their own skills in areas such as computers.
In June and July 2016, we ran a course for parents on esafety. In November 2016, we worked with the Learning Support Service to provide a course, Helping Your Child to Read at Home. Both courses were very well attended and received great feedback from parents.
