Nine Protected Characteristics

The Nine Protected Characteristics

At ladybridge we believe in inclusive practice for all of our community.  We ensure that our curriculum design and lesson content promotes and values all learners, all adults and all families.  We are proud of our diverse school, we celebrate the different faiths, backgrounds and the identities of everyone and actively promote inclusion for all.  We teach anti-racism through our partnership with the Ethnic Diversity Linking Schools Programme and our work with Show Racism the Red Card.  Relationships and Sex Education is delivered through weekly PSHE lessons, children are taught about healthy relationships and that the make-up of families can be diverse.

We strongly support the nine protected characteristics defined in the Equality Act 2010 in all aspects of school life, from our recruitment of staff, the design of our curriculum, our school values and how we support our vulnerable families.  We are proud to be a Resourced Primary School where children with disabilities and special education needs are fully included in all of our school life.

The equlaity objectives capture our work in school to promote equality.
